ASAM Criteria 4th Edition Training Wednesday, February 11, 2026

What Is It?

During this free one-day highly experiential training, subject matter experts will guide practitioners, supervisors, and other key healthcare personnel through the updated guidelines of the ASAM Criteria Fourth Edition, including the differences from the Third to the Fourth Edition and how this impacts clinical practice. Clinical staff will have the opportunity to apply the updates from the ASAM Criteria Fourth Edition to a clinical case study using the updated risk ratings, and Level of Care Determination Rules to determine and initial Level of Care Recommendation and use the new Dimension 6 to evaluate person-centered considerations

 

Objectives

  1. Define the foundational principals and key components of the ASAM Criteria, Fourth Edition
  2. Enhance clinical skills by instilling a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of the ASAM Criteria Fourth Edition, including updated Assessment Standards, Dimensions, Subdimensions, Risk Ratings, Updates to the Continuum of Care and Dimensional Admission Criteria.
  3. Recognize needs and opportunities to evolve standards and practices aligned with the Fourth Edition in a clinical setting.
  4. Apply the ASAM Criteria Fourth Edition risk rating rules, and level of care determination rules to real world case scenarios to develop level of care recommendations and use the new Dimension 6 to evaluate person-centered considerations

Continuing Education

7 Continuing Education credits will be offered for attending this training. Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School is approved by boards NBCC and ASWB
